"The Quest" is the title song of the project.
It was written during a time in my life when I really learned
that the Lord is the captain of my life.
I was out of work, living with my parents with a wife
and two small children to care for.
"The Fisherman" is a song told from Andrew's,
Simon Peter's brother, point of view.
I was in a house band for a Christian Coffee House
back in 1985 when I wrote this song.
A group called "The Songwriters" inspired it when they
ministered at "The Sanctuary".
These people were really gifted with an anointing of evangelism
and I was challenged to be a soul winner like Andrew,
who went and told his brother about Jesus.
Christmas has always been a challenging time for me.
From the times of innocence to the days of loneliness,
this holiday has meant many things,
but I never really understood the day
until I met "The Gift."
Oh what a day! Jesus lives in my heart.
The world is new and so am I! My problems are over, right?
Well they would be if it were not for the old nature.
This song was written very soon after I met the Lord.
He is faithful to "Take Me Back Home."
The Last Days
"The Last Days" is another early song.
I can still remember the pain I felt as I wrote it.
I had close friends who were refusing to receive the good news
and I carried thoughts of what would happen to them
if they continued to refuse.
Today is the day of salvation,
we might not have a tomorrow,
so call upon Him while He is near.
This next song was kind of a new beginning for me.
Up until this point in my life, most of my songs were testimony
and story telling songs.
In 1985, I wrote one of my first Praise and Worship songs.
Today, probably 90% of what I write are in this genre.
Let all of God's people say,
"Worthy Are You Lamb of God."
